Why We’re No Longer Accepting PayPal
Share
Hey Ultra Rare community,
We always strive to give you the best experience possible when shopping with us—whether it’s through deep discounts, exciting new product lines, or smooth, secure checkout options. That’s why we want to be upfront with you about a recent change:
As of 11/04/2025, we will no longer be accepting PayPal as a payment method on our store.
Why the Change?
This wasn’t an easy decision, and we know many of you use and trust PayPal. However, PayPal’s current set up with our platform requires us to automatically accept all payments, including those from subscriptions, bots, and other automated systems.
Unfortunately, this just doesn’t work for us.
We specialize in products that are often highly sought-after, and when bots or are involved, it creates an unfair advantage—leaving real collectors and genuine fans at a disadvantage. On top of that, PayPal's automation doesn’t allow us to properly screen or manage these orders, which has led to issues with stock availability, order fairness, and customer satisfaction. We also need screening for our subscription service to make sure it is fair to onboard people and if it is truly a fit for them.
What Are the Alternatives?
We’ve made sure there are plenty of safe, secure, and reliable payment options still available, including:
-
Debit & Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
-
Google Pay / Apple Pay
-
Bank Transfer
-
Shop Pay
These methods give us the flexibility to manage orders fairly and continue offering the best deals to the community.
Looking Ahead
We’re constantly reviewing how we can improve things for our customers, and if PayPal’s interactions change in the future to better support sellers like us, we’d absolutely consider bringing it back.
If you were looking to use the Pay-in-3 PayPal option, that would mean you are someone who buys in bulk. If that is you, it is usually advised that you be onboarded to the Emporium, where we have deeper discounts and set up payment plans for you.
Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out—we’re always here to help.
Stay rare,
The Ultra Rare Team
